Tonight we are meeting all the other people in Patrick’s A-100 class (about 90 others) at a welcome reception that the previous class is hosting. It seems this whole FS thing is really happening. It’s been such a long time coming that starting class is really hard to believe, but very exciting. I feel like we might get there and there will be men in suits ready to test Aydan and me just to be sure that our family is good enough for them. I guess I wouldn’t put it past the State Department after everything Patrick’s already been through. ; ) I’ll let you know how it goes…

The evening went really well. We met lots of people from the 154th class (Patrick’s in the 156th) who already have their assignments. Some of them are leaving as soon as December. There were a good number of people going to Europe, great places in Europe too like Oslo and Prague. Amazing.
