It’s been a long time… here are some pictures from our final days in Cameroon.
Our last weekend there our friends threw us a farewell party. It also coincided with the opening of the playground Patrick designed and had built at the embassy. It was a huge undertaking and thanks to many people it came together very nicely. Three slides, three towers, swings, rope ladders, two bridges, a bike track, trikes, and a sand pit and lots of other goodies…
The beautiful cake our dear friend, Kristen made for us.
Drake and his girlfriend, Emma.
Aydan with two of the four neighbor boys who became our family in Cameroon.
Here is Drake and his other girlfriend, our housekeeper, Meekness.
Aydan and her buddy, our guard, Isaac.
On our last Friday at post the Ambassador and his wife asked Patrick to run a beer tasting of all the beers in the commissary. He organized a tasting and a small lesson on how beer is made. It was a great event!
Here we are with our church group and the aprons they had made for us.
Our last ladies bible study meeting before I left. These ladies are awesome!
Aydan on her last day in Cameroon on the playground her father made for her picking up a chunk of dirt in the shape of Africa. Perfect.
Looking back on these pictures makes me so thankful for all we had in Yaounde, friends who loved us and our children, a great job where people respected and were thankful for Patrick, and amazing weather. Let’s hope Manila can hold such goodness in one city.
What a beautiful little play area for the kids – that is an awesome gift to leave behind for the families there and arriving. Well done! Safe travels to your next post!
i love reading your blog, my boyfriend is thinking about joining the foreign service and i find the whole lifestyle really intriguing.
